Juvederm® Fillers

The Peer clinic uses Juverderm® fillers which are made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the skin and throughout the body. One of its main functions in the body is to bind water and lubricate movable body parts such as joints and muscles.

Young skin has high levels of hyaluronic acid this gives young skin its smooth and elastic properties and appearance.

As we age levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin fall. This causes the skin to become dryer and causes a loss of volume in the face. At the Peer Clinic I use dermal fillers treat volume loss in the face and address issues of fine facial lines and much deeper folds and wrinkles. Popular areas to treat include volume loss in the temples, cheeks, the lips (that become thin with age), the lines from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial lines) and the lines from the corner of the mouth down to the chin (marionette lines).

The Peer Clinic uses fillers which, in addition to the hyaluronic acid, contain local anaesthetic. Consequently, they are usually not painful to inject. The effect of the fillers is immediately visible with the maximal effect being seen after 2 weeks. This usually lasts between 6 and 18 months.

After a full facial assessment, I can advise you how best to use dermal fillers to achieve a very natural and more youthful appearance. For an initial consultation click here.
